Day-8

A microwave oven heats food using microwave radiation generated by a magnetron. Key components include a transformer (to step up voltage), waveguide (directs microwaves into the oven), and a control panel. The microwaves cause water molecules in food to vibrate, producing heat.

Safety features include a door interlock system and a metal mesh to block microwaves from escaping. Microwaves typically consume 600-1200 watts. Common electrical issues involve blown fuses, magnetron failure, or capacitor problems.

They're efficient because they heat food directly without warming the surrounding air.
